بررسی استعمال پودر سنجد تفت داده شده در روغن کنجد بر بهبودی سوختگی درجه دو

  Introduction : Recently, the herbs with medicinal effects has been subject of attention of many of researchers. The Turkmen people use roasted fruit Elaeagnus Angustifolia powder in sesame oil as home remedy for burn wounds . The aim of study was to report the use of powder fruit Elaeagnus Angustifolia on healing of burn wound.   Methods : In this descriptive observational study in 2010 by purposeful sampling 40 patients from Aq-Qalla (Turkmen area in Northern Iran) whom has burn wounds degree two were included. The patients used roasted powder of fruit Elaeagnus Angustifolia in sesame oil as remedy . Data analyzed using Chi-square and t-test at significance level p<0.05.   Results: 60 percent of the patients were male and the mean age of them was 21.9 years. The most cases of burn was due to hot liquid and flame of fire and the most extent area of burn was 9 to 30 percent. In terms of severity, 80 percent of patients had second-degree burn. The less frequency use of Elaeagnus Angustifolia was twice and most one was six times. The recovery period varied from 7 to 14 days. The results showed the users of this traditional remedy achieved to complete recovery and also reported no infection. Conclusion: According to the patients self-reports and the researchers'' observations, the use of roasted powder of Elaeagnus Angustifolia in sesame oil was effective in healing of burn wounds with severity degree two. The researchers believed that merely with randomized clinical observation the effectiveness of Elaeagnus Angustifolia would be evaluated.
